Reel Breakdown

Celestial Court Portal

Simple particle system using a ring emitter with attract forces and curl noise. Motion blur was enhanced by increasing the velocity attribute during rendering, creating a soft, dreamy particle effect.

Vellum Grain Man

Vellum Grains experiment inspired by the Sandman transformation from Spider-Man. A reversed vellum grain simulation driven by an activation plane generates the base effect, which is then used as collision for a secondary sand simulation layered on top.

Talentee Commercial | SCAD x The Mill NYC

Collaboration between SCAD and The Mill NYC to create a mock ice cream commercial. Geometry was transformed along a curve to emit particles, followed by a secondary simulation that advected particles outward using spin force. The final simulation was reversed to achieve the final motion.

4 Ways to Destroy South Aspen High: Full-Body Explosion

This shot combines multiple layered simulations. A soft-body simulation first explodes a proxy body, followed by a fluid simulation emitting from interior points to simulate blood. A Vellum rope simulation drives veins pulling apart, while the primary explosion is simulated using Axiom for GPU-accelerated pyro.

4 Ways to Destroy South Aspen High: Hallway Explosion

This shot uses several RBD destruction techniques to create convincing metal deformation in the lockers. The lockers are fractured and constrained using a system that transitions between glue and soft constraints, allowing them to bend and deform before breaking apart.

4 Ways to Destroy South Aspen High: Exterior Explosion

This explosion was created in Houdini using Axiom for pyro simulation alongside RBD destruction workflows. The scene was rendered in Karma. Particular attention was given to structural realism: the brick pattern matches the real building, and layered materials such as concrete, beams, and internal elements were added to enhance believability.
